Over the course of an year and a half over 200 people were interviewed to create this theatrical portrait of town coming to grips with the horrible, hate-fuelled violence in the aftermath of a brutal murder.
In October 1998, just outside the town of Laramie, Wyoming a 21 year university student was tied to a fence post, severely beaten, robbed, tortured and left, alone, to die. He succumbed to his injuries 5 days later.
The Laramie Project is hailed as one of the most captivating and encompassing pieces of contemporary theatre, the play shocks, challenges, and moves all who watch it as it reveals the lowest depths of hatred and greatest heights of compassion that lies within all human beings in any seemingly average community.

Idiosyncratic characters amuse, move and frighten, always speaking from the depths of their souls. They include a baton twirler, a fundamentalist snake handler, an ex rodeo rider and an actress willing to go to any length to get a job.
